Round Three...

Sorry there hasn't been a post in a while. We all have been very busy. Well at least most of us. Anyways, Hunter here with an exciting new update about Call of Duty Black Ops. Yes... it is yet another map pack... This one is just as good as the last. This new map pack features four new multiplayer maps along with an interesting zombie map. But first the multiplayer maps (which I assume more of you are concerned about seeing that most people only play that)

HAZARD

Hazard is a tropical remote island with a giant resort on top of it. It is mainly taken up by an open golf course with buildings all around. So be prepared for a lot of camping snipers. But as in any other map there are outsides and other ways to get around maps rather than just go straight up the middle. There are other sides to the buildings but they are right next to the coast line. Not any beaches just cliffs into the ocean so there is one minor downside to it because if you’re not really looking at what direction you’re going, or make a sudden turn. Well, I think you get it. This is a unique map compared to the other maps in black ops. Hazard is a brighter, greener map with obvious detail. Look at this link to get a better idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAXWX-lei3E

HANGAR 18

Hangar 18 is a map based off of area 51. It look almost like a Halo map in my opinion. It's different. It has a lot of little nooks and crannies to hide in. Again watch out for snipers and campers. What I noticed that is a huge problem for me is that there is a tower right next to the spawn. This obviously allows a lot of spawn trapping to occur, but overall still a great map. Watch this video to get a better look at the map. By the way you will see there is a building to the left of where this guys spawns that is what I was previously talking about with the spawn trapping.

SILO

Silo is a winter missile map. Another sniper map. It has a lot of taller areas with little large openings but smaller paths all over the place. Just like in Launch which comes with the Call of Duty Black Ops game rockets launch randomly throughout the game. But I don't believe you can get killed by them. Another thing about this map is it is divided by some walls. You can easily climb over these walls though. All in all another great map that they put into this pack. The video below is again by the same guy in the video above. (Yes I know he is a little annoying but I thought he gave some good shots to give you a incite to the maps.)

DRIVE IN

Drive in is a smaller map which is based off of drive in movie theaters like you see in all those movies... This on not exactly in mint condition though. It is somewhat open with the parking lot in the center and small buildings all around. It just seems like the other maps in Black Ops. Nothing different between it and Nuketown except the theme. To get a better look at it watch the video below.

SHANGRI LA

Last but definitely not least is Shangri La. The newest zombie map is based as a Mayan Temple island. I kinda find some humor to this seeing as though the Mayans "predicted" the end of the world would be 2012 and they put you in a Mayan Temple during a zombie apocalypse. Anyways, this looks like a great map. There are so many little features to it to challenge you and to help you. You will all love it. It really is indescribable watch the video below. This guy is a little hard to understand but even still this will give you a great view of the map.

All in all, I highly recommend this map pack to all Call of Duty players. This may possibly be one of the best map packs I've ever seen. Just looks spectacular. Thanks for the read! Hope this helps you make a decision as to whether or not to get the map pack!

Homefront Review

Hey, it's Hunter again with a review for Homefront. I hope this review is as in depth as I hope it should be.
Homefront has a very new unique theme, America is taken over by the uprising Koreans and you play as the protagonist Robert Jacobs, a former Marine helicopter pilot. When you are found and captured by the Koreans you see many disturbing things on the way to your concentration camp. Mothers and fathers being killed in front of their children, battery crimes on innocent Americans all along the streets, and also just plain excecution. Then all the sudden the school bus you are riding in gets hit by a truck, the driver is a member of the American rebellion. You one of the only concious people is taken by them and is taught the ropes of the game. The story is all in all exciting, and difficult, but short. The ending is what really caught me the most. As you are defeating the Koreans on the golden gate bridge you are suddenly hit with a big explosion, one of the main characters Rianna is looking at you in desperation saying "Get up! Get up!" and then the game just ends. Watching the credits all I could think was "Huh?" Well I think this is a set up for DLC end of story expansion or the lead to a second game. Which I hope would be better than this one. The game is not bad but, I defenitely think it could be improved, the graphics are dated, the story was confusing and short, but the online is amazing, it has many new features and ideas than any other shooter I have ever played online.

One of these new features is that Homefront has the biggest game modes ever put into multiplayer, this is known as ground control and plays thirty two players. Ground control is Domination to those of you who know Call of Duty. To those of you who don't that is a game in which you and your team capture positions by standing there defending them, and you earn points for each few seconds you hold them. The team with the most points or gets to the point limit wins. This creates a great amount of exciting game play and nonstop encounters with enemies. There is also as usual team death match and another mode which switches you between both, they both play twenty four people and it still has a lot of craziness. This game has amazing maps featured in many American atmospheres such as farms and towns and exclusively to Xbox, as there is a suburban map. These maps are made big as to uphold the mass amount of players and vehicles. Yes I said vehicles, since this game was set in 2027 there are some different types of vehicles than we are used to in the more modern games. They have an assortment of vehicles from sighting drones to a couple types of tanks. the variety, realistic, and futuristic feel to this game is beyond comparable to any other First Person Shooter.

There are drones you control to spot enemies in the sky and mark them so your teammates can see them and there are other drones you control to kill enemies. These drones are low in BP (not the oil company), which stands for battle points these battle points are earned in game and can only be used in game. You earn bp by killing enemies, capturing positions, and destroying vehicles. BP does not buy you guns, or attachtments, or camos. These are earned by kills, you earn three different holographic sights when you have gotten only five kills, red dot sights fifty, and other attachtment are different amount of kills. You earn camos through killstreaks, the amount of kills in you killstreak with the gun give you different camos. Also you can earn camos by getting to certain levels, the same way you do with guns. There are not a lot of guns though there are only two sniper rifles, and you can only have one sidearm which is a none reliable M9 pistol. Regardless the online is well made and very fun. The online I believe is the best part of the game, and I think that Homefront will have some DLC packs made for more guns, maps, or even the real ending to the campaign.

Homefront is a great online game, but has a weak story. This will be a major insult, but honestly I think that this would have been a better arcade game. But, I think that because they added a campaign they felt it should be a hardware in store game. If I hadn't already got it, I would wait until the game cost less money. I would not say it is worth sixty dollars, but I don't think many games are. Thank you for reading, hoped this helped you fellow gamers.
Lots of lolz-
Hunter

Yes this is a YouTube video,  but it's the only one that I found good without an annoying moron complaining about how they did. Fucking MLG scrubs... But this guy also caught my thoughts and ideas. But I'd give the game between a 7 and 8. Also the gun this guy uses is fully automatic on Xbox 360, while he is playing PS3.

Your Opinion: Homefront vs Call of Duty

Hey, Hunter again with a quicky.

The game I personally have been anticipating since I even heard about it, Homefront is coming out tomorrow! I am very excited to see the campaign, it's a fresh new idea being the underdogs. North Korea has taken over America and you are part of a small rebellion who wants and fights for their freedom. Multiplayer looks just as good as Call of Duty and Battlefield Bad Company 2. They have put a new twist on it, earning points to spawn tanks and other vehicles! That will surely end up with a crazy online. Except there aren't many guns they have shown us, but I expect they will be there we just don't know them yet. Had you pre-ordered it you would have gotten a couple exclusive guns. The graphics are not as great as some had hoped but I prefer Modern Warfare's graphics over Black Ops anyways. Now I want to know what you guys think of the upcoming game! Is it a contender against Call of Duty? Do you plan on buying the game? Or just another want-to-be first person shooter?

    Thanks for reading!

LEGO Star Wars 3

Hey Hunter, here with the review for the Lego Star Wars 3 demo. I anticipated this one for a while. I have loved the Lego Star Wars collection since the first. They were always fun to play and humorous.

It was not up to par the way I expected. The game still has the same credit intro like in the Star Wars movies. As always you can just skip the intro. Then of course after, you see the cut-scene at the beginning of the episode. It did not appeal to me and I didn't know what to think. This is based of the The Clone Wars Series on Cartoon Network. I've never seen this series but from what I saw in the demo they take the fun out of the game the previous games had. The series on cartoon network from what I've seen in the commercials, it's a not very kid friendly. Not to say it's inappropriate but its not a cartoon kid like series. This affected the demo for me. There were no funny points in the cut-scenes in between playing.

The game play itself was not good either. It was hard to know what you were supposed to do. It took me a while to find out how to get to the other side of platforms. It was very complicated in that you needed to use R2-D2 to get to other sides of things in order to move on. Although it's a bit challenging like a game should be. It was not gamer friendly, the controls are new, and have new features like you can now throw your light saber, but this makes you vulnerable to be shot at by the CPU enemies. As in the last game your character has to build things with broken up Lego pieces. Eventually in the demo you find that you must control where a few Lego pieces go, this was not gamer friendly either. It was very hard to control where the piece went, and I eventually got frustrated with it and quit the demo because i had enough.

All in all, I was a little disappointed with the game demo. The graphics and ideas were great, but they need to do some control fixing. The game is perfect for people who like the TV show of the game, but it didn't appeal to me. The demo was not a promising sign of a good sequel to the amazing Lego Star Wars series for me. I do not suggest even looking into this game, but if you must here's some links for you to try and make a decision for yourself. I'd hurry it comes out soon

Donkey Kong Returns

Hi its Hunter again with a review for the highly anticipated Donkey Kong Returns. I have played all of the Donkey Kong games that are on The Super NES. These games were amazing, the challenges, the fun, and the graphics are really good for the time period of these games. This is a complete description for Donkey
Kong Returns, except its even better. The graphics are amazing, even the background for the levels are great. Each level is the same way and it was not easily made, there are so many details in the game. There are many shades and different colors. One of the levels I like a lot is when you have to play as a silhouette at sunset, and the graphics really blew me away with this. Just like how it blew me away with the many challenges in each level.

There are so many little challenges throughout the game. In the original games you had to collect the four letter coins to spell out KONG, they have brought that back (while making it harder to collects them all) and some new things to help challenge the gamers. In the game you can also collect puzzle pieces, in each level there are eight or nine or so. These puzzle pieces create a picture like a strawberry or a pineapple, and they open up a pathway to a shop in each section of the islands. This path leads to a store where you can but things with bananas you collect on the way through the levels. There are also hidden items in the flowers and plants. There are yellow, fat plants throughout the level and they have something inside them like some bananas or the special coin in each level or sometimes puzzles pieces. To get them you have to pound on the ground in front of them. This is also true for the flowers except you blow on them, but you have to be quick because they fly away. Also in the game there are mini game challenges, sometimes you have to pound on a certain area of the ground to get to it or find it under some raised levels of ground. There you can also get all these things.
This game is totally worth the money. It is actually more than what it already costs. This is another amazing game by Nintendo and being a big fan of Donkey Kong I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have fun or is looking for a family game. I give this game a 9/10. Thanks for reading, and have fun with this game!

CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS

Hi, it’s Hunter again. Sorry about not having posted in a long time, but being stuck in school and other stuff really takes up your time. Not to mention being addicted to Black Ops amazing multiplayer. Black Ops has an amazing online multiplayer. The kill streaks are creative and fun to use. There are kill streaks ranging from three to eleven kills. But there’s nothing like getting a nuke like people did in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. The best kill streak is a gunship. Where you control an attack helicopter and where it goes and where it fires. But, like in modern warfare there are UAVs called spy planes and counter UAVs called counter-spy planes. There are also attack helicopters, care-packages, sentry guns, and chopper gunners like in Modern Warfare 2. But I like Black Ops’ kill streaks better than the ones in Modern Warfare.  The RC-XD is a miniature remote control car that explodes when you command it to. It’s an easy to get yet fun kill streak.  But to other players it’s a cheap kill. SAM turrets are a good kill streak to have. They shoot down any enemy aircraft except for a Blackbird, which is a UAV that always tells the enemy position and which way the enemy is facing. A SAM turret gets you a lot of points and allows you to have an actual sidearm instead of having to pull out the LAW or some other kind of rocket launcher. But I think Treyarch should have given shotgun side arms. Now they are a primary weapon, so the only option is to have a pistol or a ballistic knife (which is a pair of knifes and one of them actually shoots the blade out.) or a crossbow (which is obviously a crossbow, but its tip explodes after you fire it) Anyways, there are other types of kill streaks, air strikes such as, Napalm strikes which lays down fires onto a set pint on the map, Mortar strikes where you pick three areas on the map to be bombarded with mortar bombs. There is also an 8 kill streak which is a valkyrie rocket, which is a guided missile you control and it shows the enemies on the map. It’s similar to a predator missile except you shoot 2 and they come from you on ground level. The other kill streak is attack dogs which you call in after 11 kills and dogs spawn from various points on the map and kill enemies. But, dogs can be killed, they may not count as a kill in team death match or free-for-all but it gives them 30 points for killing them. Now, onto perks, the new perk set-up I think is better than the one in Modern Warfare 2. The blue perks are Lightweight (faster run) which you start out with, Ghost (which is like cold blooded), Scavenger (scavenge ammo), Flak Jacket (which allows you to take more damage from just about anything), and finally Hardline (which allows you 1 less kill for a kill streak) The red perks are Hardened (which is like having FMJ, and you start out with this perk) Scout (gives you longer held breath when firing a scoped weapon) Steady Aim (which gives you increased aim when firing from the hip) Sleight of Hand (faster reload) and Warlord (which is Bling, it allows you to have two attachments) The green perks are Tactical Mask (which protects you from Nova gas you get this as a starting perk as well) Marathon (which allows you to run for a longer duration) Ninja (which allows you to run without being heard) Second chance (which puts you on the ground after being shot only equipped with a pistol to return fire but only for 10 seconds) and Hacker (it allows you to see enemy equipment) I love the new title and emblem set up. You create your emblem by buying pictures and setting them into place and changing the color. There are not as many titles though. But many of them are cool looking. You must buy these with COD points just like you do everything in multiplayer. I like this system better because then you don’t have to complete achievements for attachments on guns.
But, before you play online I suggest you play its AMAZING campaign.  You play as a man named Mason who is part of a special operation named Black Ops, which is a group that goes behind enemy lines and risks their lives to find any information about the enemy. In the game you were captured and are being interrogated by some people. You are asked to recall the events of the Cold War. In these memories you play as Mason through escape, battles, and search and destroy missions. You also play as other characters, who are trying to capture Mason because he has become a mad man. The Russians have brainwashed Mason to try and get him to kill the president of the United States John F. Kennedy. They transmit numbers into your head, which you see throughout the campaign many, many times. Later in the campaign you find out you’ve been brainwashed and you go out to find where these numbers are being transmitted from. There you end the Cold War by blowing up the headquarters of the enemy. This campaign is very action packed and has a mission for everyone to love. When you finish the campaign, it will take you to zombies.
I don’t like zombies like everyone else seems to. I guess it’s because I’m not very good at it. I think it’s very hard. You really need three or more people to play because it’s so hard. I love Left 4 Dead, and I love the idea of killing zombies. But I don’t like this one. There seems to be too much stuff to do. You’ve got to find things, set blockades, and MOW through many waves of zombies. But I’m also not the person to talk to about zombie gaming considering I haven’t played that many zombie games. But I did love the arcade mode. I thought that was hilarious. If you haven’t heard of it, when you are at the main menu you press the triggers rapidly and then you get up from you chair, and behind your chair there is a computer and you type in this code. “3ARC UNLOCK” This code works for all systems but I’m unsure of how you get up from your chair on PS3 and Wii. I know that rapidly pushing the triggers gets you up from your chair on Xbox 360 though. Thank you for reading this, and being patient for this review.
